went into rays jazz shop today. i went in there earlier in the week and asked if i could play and he said come back saturday. just to get me to go away. so i went back today and after a while he said "ah ok u can play for about 5 minutes"
so i did
and now he wants me to come in for half hour sets a couple of times a month, and will book me with/without a backing band for gigs in the new year (as his budget is used up for paying musicians until january)
maybe i am a bit good at piano. (i kno that sounds so smug but those of u who hear me play lots know how shit i think most of my playing is. minnie has the best word for it - mess)

And that is so great. I really am gonna have to come watch for a bit at some point.
And guess what? I sang earlier and I thought I sounded okay.
It's a revelation. I was so happy *blush*
